In The Polar Express, some children hide in Santa’s sack hoping to join the adventure unnoticed, missing the full experience. Similarly, as Christians, we can sometimes rely on others’ faith stories instead of embracing Christ personally. Let’s reflect on what it means to truly own our faith journey.
Are You Actively Pressing On in Your Faith?
(Philippians 3:12-14)
Paul encourages us to press on toward the goal of knowing Christ fully, not just resting in what others have done.
• Are you actively seeking and growing in your personal relationship with Jesus?
• Or are you relying on the faith of your family or others without pursuing the journey yourself?
Is Your Faith Your Own Confession or Just a Family Tradition?
(Romans 10:9-10)
Salvation requires a personal confession of Jesus as Lord and heartfelt belief.
• Have you personally declared your faith in Jesus, or are you leaning on the faith practices of those around you?
• What can you do to make your faith your own heartfelt conviction?
Do You Live in Fear or Confidence Through the Spirit?
(2 Timothy 1:7)
God’s Spirit empowers us with power, love, and self-discipline—not fear.
• Are you hiding behind fear or uncertainty about your faith, or stepping out boldly, trusting the Spirit’s courage?
• How can you invite the Holy Spirit to lead you into a confident, vibrant walk with God?
