Devotional: Embracing the Blessings of a Small Church

1. Understanding Our Family Bond

Reflect on how your small church community fosters relationships. How does knowing others by name and face help you feel more connected and supported in your faith? Consider 1 Timothy 5:1-2, which encourages us to treat each other as family. Who in your church community can you reach out to this week to strengthen that familial bond?

2. Stepping Into Opportunities for Growth

In what areas can you step up to serve within your small church? Given the greater need for participation in smaller congregations, identify one role or responsibility where you feel called to contribute. Reflect on the passage from Galatians 6:1-2. How can you support others in your church community this week, both spiritually and practically?

3. Pursuing Collective Growth

While we cherish the close-knit nature of our small church, how can we collectively work toward growth? Reflecting on the parables in Matthew 13:31-32 and John 15:1-2, pray for a heart that desires not only personal growth but also growth for the congregation. What steps can you and your church take to encourage outreach and expansion while maintaining the warmth and connection you cherish?
