Devotional Title: "Shall Your Brethren Go to War While You Sit Here?" (Numbers 32:6)

Introduction:

In Numbers 32, the tribes of Reuben and Gad wanted to settle comfortably on the east side of the Jordan rather than joining their brethren in the battle for the Promised Land. Moses challenged their thinking sharply, reminding them of their responsibility to support their brothers in the struggle. Today, as Christians, we too are in a spiritual battle. Each believer must consider their role and responsibility in God's kingdom.

Reflective Questions:

1. Are You Sitting While Others Are Fighting?

Consider Numbers 32:6—"Shall your brethren go to war while you sit here?"

Are you actively involved in the spiritual battles of the church (evangelism, encouraging others, serving the needs of the church), or are you comfortable watching from a distance while others carry the load?

2. Are You Encouraging or Discouraging Your Fellow Believers?

Think about Numbers 32:7—"Why do you discourage the Israelites from crossing over into the land the Lord has given them?"

Does your inactivity or lack of involvement discourage others who are serving? How can your active participation encourage and strengthen your brothers and sisters in Christ?

3. Will You Be Found Faithful or Neglectful?

Reflect on Numbers 32:23—"But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out."

Realize that your choices today have eternal consequences. Are you faithfully using the talents and opportunities God has given you, or are you burying them and neglecting your responsibility?

Conclusion:

Let us not be content to enjoy the blessings of God's family without sharing in the responsibilities. Instead, may we rise up, stand alongside our brethren, and faithfully engage in the spiritual battles before us.
