Question 1: How can I love my neighbor as myself, even when it’s controversial or uncomfortable?**
Matthew 22:39 reminds us that Jesus calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves—without exceptions. Loving others doesn’t mean we must agree with everything about them, but it does mean treating them with kindness, respect, and compassion, just as Chip and Joanna Gaines did when they served a same-sex couple.
Reflect: Who is God calling you to love today, even if it challenges your comfort zone?
Question 2: Am I using my influence and actions to point others to God’s love?**
Matthew 5:16 encourages us to let our light shine so others may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. Like the Gaines family, we all have some sphere of influence—at home, work, or school.
Reflect: How can you use your words, actions, and opportunities to show God’s love to those around you?
Question 3: Do I let fear hold me back from reaching out in love?**
1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear...” Sometimes we hesitate to love people who are different from us because of fear—fear of rejection, misunderstanding, or criticism. But God calls us to love boldly, just as He loves us.
Reflect: What fears do you need to surrender to God so you can love others more freely and fully?
Closing Thought:
Let’s remember John 3:16—God’s love is for everyone. We are called to love without fear, use our influence for God’s glory, and extend grace to all, just as Jesus did. Who will you love today?
