Are you dwelling intimately in God’s protective presence?
Psalm 91:1-2 describes God as our refuge and fortress—the safe place where we make our home. To "dwell" in God’s shelter is to build a close, ongoing relationship with Him, living in His protection daily.
• Scripture for Reflection:
• Psalm 91:1-2: "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'"
• Proverbs 18:10: "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."
• Consider: How can you cultivate a deeper intimacy with God today—through prayer, worship, or meditation—so you experience His protective presence continually?
How do you trust God’s deliverance amid life’s dangers?
Psalm 91:3-8 assures us that God actively delivers and shields us from spiritual, physical, and emotional threats. Though troubles may come near, God’s power keeps us safe and unshaken.
• Scripture for Reflection:
• Psalm 91:3-4: "Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge."
• Isaiah 43:2: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you."
• 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
• Consider: What fears or trials are you facing? How can remembering God’s protective power strengthen your trust in Him today?
Are you resting boldly in God’s assurance and angelic protection?
Psalm 91:9-13 speaks of God commanding His angels to guard believers and giving them power over evil forces. This shows that God not only protects but empowers us to overcome adversity.
• Scripture for Reflection:
• Psalm 91:11-12: "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands..."
• Hebrews 1:14: "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"
• Romans 8:37: "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
• Consider: How does the reality of God’s angelic protection and empowerment change the way you face spiritual and natural challenges? How can you live boldly in that assurance today?
