Luke 24:27 – "And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself."

After His resurrection, Jesus walked with two discouraged disciples on the road to Emmaus. Rather than immediately revealing His identity, He took them on a journey through the Scriptures, showing that the entire Bible had always been about Him. The Bible is not simply a collection of stories, laws, or history—it is one grand story of redemption, and Jesus is the hero of every page.

Question 1: Am I Looking for Jesus Every Time I Read the Bible?

Scripture:
John 5:39 – "You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about Me."

It's possible to know a great deal about the Bible and still miss its central message. Jesus reminded the religious leaders that all of Scripture points to Him. Adam foreshadows the Last Adam. The Passover lamb points to the Lamb of God. The tabernacle, sacrifices, manna, and even the rock in the wilderness all anticipate Christ.

When you open God's Word, don't begin by asking, "What should I do?" First ask, "What does this passage reveal about Jesus?" That question transforms Bible reading from merely gathering information into discovering the Savior.

Question 2: Is God's Word Transforming My Heart or Just Filling My Mind?

Scripture:
2 Corinthians 3:18 – "And we all... are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."

Studying the historical background, language, and culture of Scripture is valuable, but those things alone cannot change us. Real transformation happens when the Holy Spirit reveals Christ through His Word.

The purpose of Bible study isn't simply to know more verses or win theological debates. It's to know Jesus more deeply. As we behold Him, we become more like Him. Every time you read the Bible, pray, "Lord, show me Yourself." The clearer your view of Christ becomes, the more your life will reflect Him.

Question 3: How Does Knowing Jesus Change the Way I Live Today?

Scripture:
Philippians 3:10 – "I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death."

The goal of Scripture has never been simply better behavior or greater biblical knowledge. God's invitation has always been relationship. Every story—from Isaac carrying the wood, to Joseph being rejected by his brothers, to David the shepherd king—ultimately points us to Jesus.

As you read this week, ask yourself:

• What does this passage reveal about Jesus?

• What does it reveal about His character?

• How does knowing Him change the way I live today?

When you begin reading Scripture through the lens of Christ, every book comes alive because every page points to Him.

Lord Jesus, thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Word. Open my eyes to see You on every page of Scripture. Help me to read the Bible not simply to gain knowledge, but to know You more deeply and become more like You. May Your Word transform my heart and strengthen my faith today. Amen.
