Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 18:1-6
Question 1: Am I allowing God to shape me through difficulties instead of resisting His refining work?
Scripture:
Jeremiah 18:3-6 — "So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, 'Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?'"
Reflection:
Just as clay is shaped on the potter’s wheel, God uses life’s challenges to mold our character. Are you willing to stay on the wheel and let God remove the imperfections, even when the process feels uncomfortable?
Question 2: How do I respond to trials—do I complain and resist, or do I embrace them as God’s discipline for growth?
Scripture:
Hebrews 12:11 — "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
Reflection:
Like the Israelites who delayed their destiny through rebellion, we can get stuck by resisting God’s refining process. Are you trusting God’s discipline as a pathway to righteousness and peace?
Question 3: Am I changing my perspective to see trials as opportunities to reveal the gold God is forming in me?
Scripture:
1 Peter 1:6-7 — "These trials have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."
Reflection:
Your struggles are like clay covering precious gold inside. When you respond with patience and grace, your true value shines through. Are you letting God’s refining fire transform you into a precious vessel for His purpose?
